BDJ needs no introduction anymore since they have been providing beauty boxes since October 2012. What’s interesting to note though is that apart from the regular boxes that cost about Php580, BDJ has also started offering Elite boxes which cost Php1480. It’s more expensive but they assured subscribers that the value of the boxes will be twice the amount you pay.
Few months ago, BDJ announced that they will only be offering Elite boxes from August until December 2015. To be honest, I didn’t want to subscribe since I find the price a bit steep but I figured that if I’m going to have to shell out Php1480, it has to be for the December Elite Box. My thought was that of all the Elite Boxes this year, December box must be the best since it’s the last one for the year.
Prior to getting the box, I pretty much knew which brand it would be since BDJ posted “A global leader in the world of beauty trends will cater to your total beauty care needs this December” on their Facebook Page. When I researched online, I found the same phrase on Loreal’s website so it’s kind of a no-brainer already.
Truth be told, I was initially disappointed when I realized it was going to be an exclusive L’Oréal box. Don’t get me wrong… L’Oréal is a great brand and I love it but it wasn’t what I was expecting for a December box. I was expecting something that is not a drug store brand so let’s just say that I love this month’s box but I’m not completely in love with it. 🙂
This month’s box has 8 items in total. Let’s check each one:
“L’Oréal’ False Lash Butterfly Wings Mascara is the first-ever mascara that comes with an asymmetrical brush. It lifts and stretches your outer lashes to achieve a fanned-out effect.”
I wish I can show you how the brush looks like but I can’t open it yet. I wouldn’t want to use another one until I’m done using the other 3 that I have. The Butterfly Wings Mascara looks promising though.
“This nail polish comes with a built-in Top Coat so it glides on smoothly and easily during application.”
The one I got is “Plum Liberty”. It’s a really nice pink shade and it has some shimmer too. I can’t tell though how good of a nail polish this is since I just did my nails 3 days ago so I can’t use it just yet.
“The Shine Caresse Lip Gloss combines the long-wear power of a stain with the texture and shine effect of a gloss. It has 30% water and 60% oil content.”
Lip products are not my favorite but I somewhat like the lip gloss that I got (“Bella” shade). It’s shade compliments my lips a lot. It glides well and a small amount of it would already go a long way. One thing I noticed though is that it does feel a bit sticky once applied.
L’Oréal’s Total Repair 5 Range will help clean, nourish, and treat problematic hair.
“L’Oréal Total Repair 5 Shampoo and Conditioner are enriched with Cement-Ceramide that will leave your hair stronger, smoother, and shinier with fewer split-ends. The L’Oréal Total Repair 5 Mask, on the other hand, is a once-a-week intensive conditioner that helps regain strong and healthy hair.”
I have already tried this set before and I like it. It has a very nice scent that is actually quite addicting. The L’Oréal Total Repair 5 Mask is my favorite. It has a richer formula than regular conditioners so when it is used, it can really make your hair soft, smooth and manageable.
“No need for contouring, thanks to the Revitalift V-Shaper! This powerful instant shaping essence tightens and lifts your skin.”
Some people have told me that I tend to have a V-shape face when I lose weight so I’m not really sure if my V-shape-looking-face is the same as what this product claims to provide but I’m still excited to try it. They say that using the L’Oréal Revitalift regularly can also help erase wrinkles on the forehead and although mine only becomes visible when I’m mad, I would still like to find something that can help smooth forehead wrinkles.
“With its Opti-Blur Technology and light-diffusing pigments, the Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother is the first of its kind! It instantly reduces the signs of skin-aging and fatigue around your eyes, making you look younger and more radiant.”
Of all the items, this is probably the one that I am most thrilled to have. I am a night-owl so sleeping before midnight is something that is very unlikely to happen unless I have not slept for 24 hours or more. My sleeping habits have certainly taken a toll on my eyes. Whenever I would sleep late and wake up late, I would see very visible deep under eye circles especially on the left side so it can be a bit disturbing to look at. LOL! It would be interesting to see how good this product is. I’ll try using it for a month and I’ll just post a review next year. 🙂
So there you go! 8 L’Oréal products in one Elite box. The total value of all the items is at Php3083. It’s double the price I paid for.
Is it worth it?
Value-wise, it is obviously worth it BUT I would have skipped this box if I knew that it would contain a mix of skin care and makeup products. I prefer a box that is filled with nothing but makeup products. ^_^
