Unboxing: September Saladbox – Best of Benefit

This is the 3rd and last box from the 3-month Starter Plan that I purchased from Saladbox a few months ago. The 1st installment I got from them was actually an exclusive Benefit box as well but I am not complaining because I really do love Benefit Cosmetics.

September marked the anniversary of Saladbox and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate it than having another box showcasing some of the best products of Benefit. To make it even better, Saladbox gave their subscribers a chance to select some of the samples that will be included in the box. Since it’s their anniversary treat, subscribers were asked to choose their top 3 picks among 4 sample sets (POREfessional, HOOLA, Dandelion, and They’re Real!), with each set containing 3 Benefit products.

VIP subscribers (those with the 1-year plan) are always the luckiest because they get to submit their top 3 picks ahead of others, which means that they have a higher chance of getting their #1 pick. As for me, I chose Dandelion as #1, Hoola as #2, and POREfessional as #3. I wanted the Dandelion sample set because I haven’t tried any of the 3 products included in that set but, unfortunately, I didn’t get my #1 pick.

Let me show you each one:

saladbox-benefit-hello-flawless-oxygen-wow-foundation

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! Liquid Foundation (Honey) – Full Size 30ml (Php2000) / Sample Size 3ml (Php200)

The Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! Liquid Foundation is my favorite foundation so far. I love how this foundation brightens up my face. It has a light coverage which makes it perfect for daily use, in my opinion.

The sample I got from Saladbox is tiny but I do think that I can still get several usage out of it because a little amount of this foundation already goes a long way. Plus, I really love how cute this tube is. 🙂

The photo above shows the kit that I bought from Benefit months ago and, as you can see, I have already consumed half the amount of the foundation so I’m really happy that I managed to get an extra supply of it from Saladbox. Also, like I said awhile ago, a small amount of this goes a long way so even though I have used this foundation more than 50 times already, I still have half of it to spare. Nice, right? ^_^

saladbox-benefit-hoola-bronzer

Benefit Hoola Bronzing Power – Full Size 8g (Php1600) / Sample Size 3g (Php600)

When I saw that I didn’t get my #1 pick in the box, it wasn’t because I don’t like the Hoola sample set but because I already have these 3 products so I was actually hoping that I’ll get to try those that I haven’t tried before (products from the Dandelion sample set). Still, I was happy to get another Hoola bronzer from Saladbox because I also love using this on my cheeks. It’s very pigmented and, again, a small amount of this is already enough to contour what needs to be contoured.

saladbox-benefit-dew-the-hoola

Benefit Dew The Hoola Soft Matte Liquid Bronzer – Full Size 30ml (1600) / Sample Size 7ml (Php373)

Benefit Dew The Hoola is pretty much the same as its powder counterpart, Hoola Bronzer. It does exactly the same job except that this is in a liquid form. Basically, you just choose which one you like to use more. In my case, I prefer the powder because I feel like I get more control out of it than this one. I also have this product already so since my favorite is the Hoola Bronzer powder, I decided to give this sample to my sister-in-law so that she can try it too.

The photo above shows you the other kit that I bought from Benefit a few months ago. In this kit, you’ll see that I already have the Hoola bronzer powder as well as the Dew the Hoola Liquid Foundation. The only thing that I wished the Hoola sample set from Saladbox has is a brush (for the Hoola bronzer) because even though I already have one in my own kit, I still would want to have another one as a back up.
saladbox-benefit-hoola-zero-tanlines

Benefit Hoola Zero Tanlines Body Bronzer – Full Size 147ml (Php1800) / Sample Size 15ml (Php183.67)

The 3rd product from the Hoola sample set is the Hoola Zero Tanlines Body Bronzer. Unfortunately, I also have this already. I got a sample of this from my first ever Saladbox subscription (July Saladbox 2016) and, until now, I still haven’t used it. I’m just really not fond of using bronzer all over my body so just like the Dew The Hoola, I also gave this one to my sister-in-law.

saladbox-benefit-500-bene-cash

Benefit Php500 Benecash

The last item in the box is a coupon (Benecash) worth Php500. Some people may not be that thrilled to get this one but I am because I love buying Benefit products so I know for a fact that this Php500 Benecash will be very useful for me. I actually plan to use mine this December so I’m really ecstatic with the idea that I now get to pay less for the Brow kit that I am eyeing to purchase. Hihi!

Overall, the value of the box is at Php1356.67 and if I add the Php500 Benecash, the value would then be at Php1856.67 so that’s definitely 3-4 times what I paid for. For some people, this may not mean much because when you look at the box, it seemed like you didn’t get a lot since the products are in its sample sizes but these products are really worth every penny. Since the items included in the box are make-up products, it wouldn’t matter if the samples are small because you will already be able to tell if the product is good or not after your first or second try so for me, these items are perfect. 🙂
