Blogapalooza Horizons 2.0

Last November 5, I was fortunate enough to attend Blogapalooza’s 2nd blog event for the year. I’m very happy to say that I got to discover another batch of new brands/products that I never knew before so I’m feeling extra lucky to be a part of such an amazing event. 🙂

Given that there were a lot of merchants that participated at the event, do expect that this post is going to be really really long. (You’ve been warned!)  ^_^

ATC Healthcare International Corp. provides an array of food supplements for almost all kinds of common diseases. LiverMarin, Robust, Robust Extreme, BitterGo, RedoXfat are just some of their products that are approved and deemed safe by the FDA. Consumers can rest assured that these supplements are safe and good for the health, especially since most of ATC’s products are made from natural ingredients.

I love love love that ATC healthcare gave a range of products for us to try. Of all the food supplements I got, I am most excited to try their RedoXfat and FatOut because I am feeling the need to lose some weight right now. Initially, I thought that both products are the same but when I checked their brochures, I found that there is a difference in the ingredients used. For instance, each capsule of RedoXfat contains 150mg of Green tea extract (Camellia Sinensis) and 350mg of L-Carnitine while each capsule of FatOut contains 200mg Green Tea Extract Powder and 100mg Psyllium Husk Powder.

FatOut contains the revolutionary Sweep and Shred Formula which helps in cleansing your colon and burns down fats, for a sexier and healthier you.
RedoXFat is a slimming food supplement that contains L-Carnitine, a natural antioxidant that aids in fat burning and increases your energy for more effective workouts. Its L-Carnitine content is 7 times more compared to other L-Carnitine containing food supplement.

The other products we got from ATC Healthcare are:

LiverMarin is a dietary supplement that helps protect your liver and promotes the growth of new liver cells to prevent liver damage.
BitterGo is a dietary supplement that is a combination of Ampalaya Extract, Banaba Extract, Luyang Dilaw Extract and Bawang Extract – these natural elements help manage your insulin levels. It could also assists in lowering blood sugar levels which is beneficial for people with diabetes.
Vita-E contains 400 IU of Vitamin E that protects the cells from harmful effects of free radicals. It also prevents neurological disorder and Vitamin E deficiency occurring in malabsorption disorder.
Robust Extreme Dietary supplement for Men is the combination of Spiral Algae, Corn Extract, Medlar Extract, Ginseng Extract, Epimedium Extract, Cistanche Salsa Extracts and Hawthorn Berry Extract into one complete, totally convenient supplement. It helps in boosting your sexual appetite, attaining erection and aids your ability to repeat in your intimate activities.
Robust is a dietary supplement for men that are a gift for couples.  This is because unlike regular supplements that you regularly take (like multivitamins), Robust addresses a special need. Two of the components of Robust is Horny Goat Weed extract and L-Arginine which help men perform better in their roles as husbands in the bedroom.

Shapecloud is the first online 3D printing service platform in the Philippines. With Shapecloud, you’ll be able to turn 3D models into solid objects. What’s great about them is that their prices are actually way cheaper than what other service providers charge. I should know because last February, I tried searching OLX for some 3D printing services and their charges were huge. I think this is why a lot of people are afraid to go 3D because of the connotation that it’s going to cost them an arm and a leg but, thankfully, we now have Shapecloud to provide us with all of our 3D printing needs. As they say, with 3D printing, the possibilities are endless. With the help of Shapecloud, you can print any of the following: architectural models, prototypes, brand and company logos, toy figures, phone cases, keychains, board game pieces, and so much more.

Using Shapecloud’s service is also very easy because everything will be done online. You just have to design and upload your 3D models on their site or select a design using marketplaces and apps, wait for their feedback and quotation of your design/s, pay for your order, and then wait for your order to be delivered or picked-up (if you have chosen this method instead). That easy! And oh, don’t worry about shipping because the fee is reasonable; it’s kind of like what you would pay if you use Xend, 2Go or other courier services. And for those who can’t actually design 3D models (like me), no worries too because you can hire Shapecloud to create 3D designs for you.

Aside from 3D printing, Shapecloud also offers other services such as Multicoat Painting (single color), Full Color Painting, Metal Finishing (Bronze), 3D Scanning, and 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Suncoast’s Vitamin Boost is a new vitamin fruit drink that comes with different combinations of vitamins + low sugar + electrolytes, making it the perfect kind of vitamin-enhanced beverage that would suit any lifestyles. Vitamin Boost comes in several variants: Immuniboost, Vision Boost, All Day Glow, Energy Boost, and Anti-Stress Boost

Immuniboost (Apple flavor) – filled with Vitamin C and Immune Boosting Zinc that can help boost your immune system.
Vision Boost (Strawberry-Kiwi flavor) – filled with Lutein and Vitamin A that can help keep your eyes in top condition.
All Day Glow (Apple Iced Tea) – filled with Collagen, Pomegranate Extract and Vitamin E that can help you achieve that natural glow.
Energy Boost (Orange flavor) – filled with tasty citrus goodness plus Guarana Calcium that will give you a natural energy boost.
Anti-Stress Boost (Grape flavor) – filled with Vitamin B3, 5, 6, 12 that can help regulate body functions.

I was able to try both the Immuniboost and the All Day Glow Vitamin Boost and they were both very delicious. The All Day Glow Vitamin Boost was especially very tasty so when I tried their “Match” game and won, I chose to take this one home instead of the Immuniboost even though I felt that I needed Immuniboost more. I was told that it’s okay to drink different variants but that I should avoid drinking several bottles in the span of 1 day. After all, one bottle of Vitamin boost is already loaded with enough vitamins so no need to drink too much of it.

By the way, I do want to thank one of the guys (the one wearing a black shirt) at the booth because he gave me a pillow even though I didn’t win one during the “Match” game. I tried playing their game for the second time but still failed to snag a pillow and so I convinced him to just give me one. Hehe! 🙂

Oh Krispy Kreme! I truly enjoyed your booth at the event. I love that they didn’t just offer free doughnuts to us bloggers, but they also allowed us to design our very own doughnut. How cool was that?! I got to dip one of their Original Glazed doughnuts in a whole lot of chocolate and then I got to add sprinkles and cool emojis too. It’s safe enough to say that I am no good when it comes to creating amazing-looking doughnuts but, boy, that was one delicious doughnut.

krispy-kreme-3-tier-dougnut-tower-blogapalooza

Apart from that heavenly-smelling chocolate dip at their booth, another thing that caught my attention was their doughnut tower. Wouldn’t it be cool to showcase doughnuts in a tower like this? It looks so pretty! I am so going to avail this next time. ^_^

blogapalooza-krispy-kreme-treats

When I asked them for more information about their doughnut tower, they gave me a folder filled with Krispy Kreme brochures. When I got home to check each one out, I found that aside from the brochures, the folder also included some free treats. Wow! This means that I get to try some of what they offer for free. This really makes me happy. Thank you, Krispy Kreme. 🙂

blogapalooza-tag-booth

“TAG connects the real world with the virtual world. We create apps and APIs to make this happen.”
There is, no doubt, a lot to learn about the Tag group and I feel that an hour will not be enough for me to learn and understand everything there is about Tag. I checked their website and I felt overwhelmed with a lot of information because they have so much great things to offer. Really! What you need to know is that Tag has already created several apps serving different purposes. At the event, we were introduced to 3 of their apps: Tag Cash, Tag Wild, and Tag Band.
What is Tag Cash? According to their website:
“Tagcash is a mobile/web platform that uses blockchain technology to offer its customers a convenient and affordable way to store and transfer money, make payments and transact with merchants on the Tagcash Platform.
When you transact within Tagcash, you are using digital currency to store value and purchase services. Your balances are stored as digital currency, and all transactions are recorded on the blockchain. This is true for both the bitcoin (“BTC”) tagcoin (“TAG”)and PHP wallets available in your account.
One of the benefits of having an account with Tagcash is that it also allows you to send and receive funds, and purchase goods and services from anyone, anywhere in the world – as long they have a bitcoin wallet. To send money to that person all you need is their unique bitcoin wallet address.
What is Tag Wild? According to their website:
It is a game that connects the virtual world with the real world. TAGs are placed at different locations around the world that anyone can scan, earning Stamps, Energy Points (EP), cash or prizes. There will be 4 types of TAGs (GeoTAGS, QR Codes, Beacons and NFC). Energy Points are used to place more TAGs where you want them, as well as battle for Stamps, and battle to take over or defend TAGs on the map.
At the event, we had a chance to try out Tag Wild. We were told to look for the QR code found in each booth and then scan it. They said that if a code we scan comes with a gift icon, that means that we have won something so my sister and I checked every code we could find and one of the codes resulted to a prize, which was a Tag Band. Aside from the Tag Band, I also got 3 energy points. I checked their website for more information about the energy points and found that these points can be exchanged for stamps or collections and that you are supposed to compete with other users but I don’t really know how this works. I mean, if I happen to have more stamps or collections than another user, what exactly would I get out of it? Is it just bragging rights or am I actually going to get something? I don’t know. What I do know is that the energy points would benefit merchants or those who would like to advertise something because the energy points can also be used to place geoTAG, QR, Beacon or RFID near your business premises or even on online businesses.

blogapalooza-horizons-2-0-tag-band

What is a Tag Band?
Tag Band is an NFC wristband that allows you to store inventory information, check in and out, multimedia notes, attach RFID, QR and other barcodes to any object or person.
I was able to connect the Tag Band I got to the Tag Cash app but beyond that, I haven’t really done anything else yet. I will say that this NFC wristband looks really promising. I think that I’ll be able to get more use out of it once more people (I know) start using it.
“GOFER / Gofer Bike – is an eco-friendly bike service that is now pedaling around Makati and neighboring cities.”
What sets Gofer apart from other courier services is that they do pick-ups and deliveries of products, documents or anything that is not more than 30 pounds using eco-friendly bikes instead of motorcycles. The charge is also reasonable at Php75/way within Makati and BGC area, and Php100 to Php125/way if outside Makati and BGC (but still within neighboring cities). The downside here is that if you live way too far from Makati or BGC then you won’t be able to avail of their service. I do hope that they will eventually be able to offer this in other cities too.
What I like about them is that you no longer need to create an account just to use their service. You can just call/message them to book their service. They also guarantee that they will get to your chosen destination within an hour. Packages/items are also safe and customers don’t have to worry as well because they will be able to get a call/message from them once their item has been delivered. Also, if you have money in your Tag Cash wallet, you can also use it to pay for the Gofer service.

Musli biscuits are made with 40% oat flakes and made with no palm oil. One pack has a total of 6 cookies with a calorie count of 270+. Those facts are going to be very important if you are conscious with what you eat. I do think that Musli biscuits would be a great snack specially for those who are on a diet. I was able to try both flavors (chocolate and hazelnut) and they were both good and not overly sweet.

Chemworld Fragrance Factory is a one-stop shop for all your perfumery needs and, on top of that, they also provide high-quality training to those people who are interested to enter the perfume business. They sell bottles/sprays in different sizes and designs and they also have perfume ingredients in pack sizes. What’s even better is the fact that everything they offer is in affordable prices. For example, when I tried checking a store selling different kinds of souvenirs on Instagram, I asked them how much a personalized 10ml perfume costs and I was told that a 10ml bottle without perfume would cost Php130 each while a 10ml bottle with perfume would cost Php150. On the other hand, when I checked the website of Chemworld, I found that they are selling a 10ml frosted round glass bottle for Php 11 pesos only and they sell Regular and Premium Perfume Premix (at 250ml) for not more than Php400. Imagine this: I can actually make 25 pieces of 10ml bottles (with perfume, mind you) for less than Php700 pesos and if I do decide to personalize it, I’m sure that Chemworld will also inform me of a way to do that for a much cheaper price.

chemworld-fragrance-factory-free-perfume

At the event, I was able to win a 50ml bottle of perfume after playing one of Chemworld’s games. They gave me their version of Green Tea Premium perfume for women and it smelled amazingly fragrant. I am in love with its scent! Oh my!

Skin Station is Philippines’ leading skin clinic in painless diode laser hair removal (LHR) with 50 diode laser equipment and over 45,000 LHR patients treated. Apart from laser hair removal, they also offer other services such as facials & peels, anti-acne treatments, anti-aging treatments, body whitening, scar treatments, slimming & firming treatments, and some other doctor’s services (MesoLift, Botox & Dysport, Keloid Injection, Warts Removal, Non-surgical Nose Lift, IV Placenta, IV Glutathione with Vitamin C, etc.). Plus, they also sell their own line of skincare products.

At the event, I was able to win some coupons after playing their game. With the coupon, I would only have to pay Php750 instead of Php1500 for their Painless Diode Hair Removal for Underarms. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make use of this since I don’t really have hair problems in my underarms. I will, however, give these coupons to someone who may be able to take advantage of their hair removal service.

The next booth introduced us to what Northern Mariana Islands are all about. The brochure I got from them gave me some insights about the things that tourists can do when visiting the Northern Mariana Islands: Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. Looking at the photos of the different land and sea activities that can be done in the islands makes me want to go there. I know Philippines already has a lot of beautiful islands to explore but I still would like to have the opportunity to visit wonderful beaches located in other countries. Visiting the Northern Mariana Islands have now become part of my bucket list.

*By the way, I was very happy when the people at the “My Marianas” booth gave each of us a flower crown. It was so pretty that I must have taken more than 20 selfies while wearing it. Hehe!

Bona Vita 8-in-1 Coffee Mix is not your ordinary kind of coffee because this drink is mixed with Malunggay, Mangosteen, Guyabano, Ganoderma, and Acai Berry Extracts and if that is not enough, this coffee is also sweetened with Stevia. That’s right! Bona Vita allows you to enjoy the pleasure of drinking coffee in a healthy kind of way.
I was able to take home 1 sachet and let me tell you this, even though this drink is mixed with a lot of healthy ingredients, it still tasted like a regular coffee. It didn’t taste weird at all. I think that if I can get my mom and dad to try this, they might also switch to drinking this instead of the 3-in-1 coffee drinks that they normally buy at the grocery. A box of this coffee mix (10 sachets), however, will cost you Php450 but, then again, healthy doesn’t always come cheap. If I’m a coffee addict, I would much rather pay Php450 because it means that I get to continue enjoying coffee without the added guilt.
MyOffice is a virtual office that allows SME owners, freelancers, and professionals to have a prime office address, work space, and receptionist, for a very low price – depending on your chosen location (either a Makati or BGC office) and the services you choose to use.
At the blog event, they gave us a chance to build our ideal virtual office based on our preference. I actually don’t need a virtual office at the moment since I work as a home-based online teacher but in the interest of finding out what my ideal virtual office would cost me, I chose just 3 out of the many possible options they offered: Builders Centers, Makati as my location, to have an official business address, and to have “Live Phone Answering”. A few days later, they sent me an email with a list of the packages they offer. It turns out that if I would decide to have a virtual office, I would only pay just Php1000 (Basic Lite Package) and if I would to choose their other location in Makati (25D Office at Zeta Building), I would only have to pay Php899. It’s so cheap! Even their premium package would cost you less than Php3000. Consider this, MyOffice is similar to some budget hotels like Tune Hotel where you only pay for what you actually use so if you don’t need to use a meeting room or a fax machine or some other office facilities, then you don’t have to pay for it. MyOffice is perfect for those who want to make the most out of their money. It’s great for those who can’t really afford to rent an entire office space or for those who simply need to have a tiny space to do some office work.

San Mig Food Ave. is a convenience store business of San Miguel Foods Incorporated. At present, you’ll find these convenience stores at Petron gas stations. Some may think that San Mig Food Ave. is just like the other convenience stores out there but I think that what sets them apart is that they do offer freshly baked breads so if you are in the mood for a delicious bread, you don’t have to look for a separate bakery anymore. San Mig Food Ave. also offers freshly brewed coffee (in selected outlets), savory meaty rice meals (in selected outlets), filling snacks, and other grocery items. To make it even better, they accept load and bills payments too.

At the event, I was able to try one of their drinks but, sadly, I was not able to try their Nutella buns. Huhuhu! I had eaten a lot for lunch so when I got to their booth the first time, I didn’t have space in my tummy anymore. Later that day, I decided to go back to their booth in hopes of trying out their Nutella bun but it was all gone. I think it’s safe enough to say that the buns were delicious otherwise, bloggers wouldn’t have eaten it. 🙂

MyCure is a tech startup company that has created an app (available on both the iOS and Android), which enables health professionals to maximize time and resources wherever they go, whenever they need it. Currently, they have myCure Doctor app, which is the only mobile EMR exclusively devised for doctors that provides quick, seamless patient database management without having to worry about file security.

Aside from their MyCure Doctor app, they will also be releasing another app, which is the MyCure Patients App. This app is for those people who would like to keep their medical records with them at all times. This app will also have other features such as Pill Reminder, Doctor Finder, and Medical Diary.

Honestly, I am quite excited for the release of this app because I know it will be very useful for me. Recently, I had to take several medicines due to some skin-related problems and it was certainly hard to keep track of everything because the doctor prescribed several medicines (with different dosage instructions) for me to take for a week. It was so confusing that I had to post the doctor’s prescriptions on my wall just so I wouldn’t make a mistake. With the MyCure Patients app, I won’t have to worry about missing a pill or taking the wrong pill and I will also be able to keep track of my medical conditions. I do hope that they will release this app soon so I can finally download it.

“Truetea is the first low-calorie iced tea with no sugar added. Truetea is made from real black tea leaves and sweetened with Stevia to bring out the best mixture of taste, sweetness, and flavor. Truetea is packed with Vitamin C, perfect for you and your family who wants a refreshing drink without the worries.”

I got to try this iced tea at the event and I liked it. I was happy to learn about this healthy iced tea because prior to the event, I was drinking another brand of healthy iced tea sweetened with Stevia as well. At this point, I can only say that what makes TrueTea iced tea better is the fact that it’s actually cheaper than the other one I’m drinking. I sent a message on their Instagram account to learn more about its price and I found out that 1 box of TrueTea (4 sachets) costs Php99 but what’s great about it is that 1 sachet is actually good for 1 liter, which can make up to 5 glasses. This makes TrueTea cheaper because with the other brand I’m drinking, I pay Php20 for 1 sachet that is good for 1 glass only.

Now, I was hoping that I would actually get a chance to try this iced tea at home but I realized that the sample that they gave us at the event wasn’t a sachet of this iced tea but a sachet of Green Stevia. I was a bit disappointed because I can’t really recreate their drink with just the Stevia on hand. At the moment, TrueTea iced tea is available in Robinson Supermarkets, Landmark Makati, Trinoma, Cash and Carry, Echostore, Real Food, Addys Store and Mercury Outlets nationwide. I do hope that their product will be available in SM supermarkets too so that it will be more accessible to me.

“Pangalan.com brings in quality online services to Filipinos from domain registration to reliable web hosting, domain forwarding or website creation and management. It  is an expansion in the Philippines of the successful domain registrar in Japan called Onamae.com.”
I have been using WordPress for more than 4 years now and I have yet to purchase a domain because of the fear that it would be too expensive for me to maintain but Pangalan.com was able to give me more information about what Domain and Web Hosting are and how I can benefit from availing those two. Actually, my older brother is really good in computers (his job revolves around computers) and for some years, he has been telling me to buy a domain and web hosting but I never really got into doing it because I didn’t feel like it was the right time plus I didn’t have money allocated for it. Now, I am feeling more and more ready to take the next step and I certainly do hope that I’ll be able to get everything done in the first quarter of 2017. 🙂
Taisho Ramen & Teppanyaki House serves authentic Japanese food that, according to them, would make you feel like you are in Japan. Well, I can’t really say if I was transported to Japan or not since I haven’t been there and, therefore, have no way of knowing if it has lived up to its claim or not. I was able to try a piece of their Gyoza at the event but I didn’t like it that much because I could taste the vegetables and if you have been reading my old posts, you’ll know how much I despise vegetables. My sister, on the other hand, really enjoyed the gyoza and said it was very delicious. I look forward to trying their other non-vegetable dishes in the future. I just hope that they would open another branch in Manila or Pasay area because SM North EDSA is just too far.

Kleiner Klopfer is a German-made party shooter with 17% alcohol and comes in five amazing flavors: Cream, Sour Cherry, Plum, Fig, and Woodruff.

At the event, I learned that they also created several games that would make any parties livelier and more fun. I actually tried playing one of the games they had at their booth but I didn’t win so I can’t really tell if the drinks are good or not. I wished that they had given each blogger a free shot of this just so all of us would know how it actually tastes like. I’m not sure if they are selling this per piece but on their Facebook page, I found out that a box of Kleiner Klopfer (containing 25 bottles) is sold for Php1200. This means that 1 bottle will already cost you Php48. Now, I am not much of a drinker so I can’t really say if this price is considered affordable or not but all I can say is that for a cool-looking party shooter like this, I’d be willing to try it out if and when I decide to host a booze-filled party. 🙂

One of these days, I’m going to check out Victoria Court so I can finally see how cool those themed rooms are. I have no interest whatsoever with Star Wars stuff but in the first Blogapalooza event held in May, I found out that Victoria Court also has a Iron Man-themed room and that’s the one that I would love to visit. Fortunately, I was able to get a discount card at the event so if I ever do decide to check-in there, I won’t have to pay full price anymore. Lol!

“GoMoto is a local, all-Filipino tech startup. They partner with trustworthy motorcycle drivers to provide fast and hassle-free services through their iOS and Android apps. Their goal is to be the premier on-demand motorcycle hailing service provider in the country.”
At the event, I asked them if the cost of their service is similar to that of Grab Express and the guy at the booth told me that their charge is cheaper. When I got home, I tried checking their website and I found the following information: “The base fare is at Php65 for the 1st 3 kilometers and Php12 for the succeeding kilometers. Payment and fee is pre-arranged and calculated in the app based on the distance. Fare is dependent on the distance traveled only. No additional “per minute” charges! You may see the fare estimate in the app when you choose your pick-up and drop off address.”
I wanted to be able to compare their price to the ones from Grab Express so I downloaded their app and tried to create a pick-up and drop-off locations based on the same locations used by my brother when he tried Grab Express before. From the photo above, you’ll see that the calculated fare cost from a location in Pasay city to Tondo Manila will cost Php197, which is actually a lot higher than what my brother paid when he used Grab Express to send some documents. With Grab Express, he only paid Php125 at that time. Hmmm…

Kyusoku Bihaku (KB) Skin whitening brand was one of those brands that was new to my ear. They introduced us to some of their products and we were lucky to be able to take home samples of their Glutathione Activator Plus NAC (N-acetylcysteine) and Rosehips Vitamin C. Before the event, I knew little about how a combination of glutathione and vitamin C would really affect my body. All I knew was that if I take Glutathione plus Vitamin C, my skin will get lighter faster. Well, I have tried 2 brands of glutathione already but I can’t seem to see any visible results. I think that it is the reason why I always seem to quit after just a few months because maintaining it on a monthly basis without seeing any results feels a bit toxic.

KB Skin Whitening brand’s website was very helpful in expanding my knowledge about glutathione and I’m really thankful for that. I just learned that what makes their product far better than any other providers out there is that their tablets contain free-form amino acid components of glutathione already, which makes it easier for our body to absorb it thereby, giving our liver the supply that it needs to synthesize glutathione. The NAC (N-acetylcysteine) that comes with it makes this product even better because it gets the liver to produce more glutathione for our body. I also learned that taking rosehips vitamin C is better than taking a regular vitamin C because it will raise the body’s glutathione levels even more.

I am seriously hoping that trying the KB Skin Whitening brand would give me good results because their price is quite affordable. On their website, I found that you can get 30 capsules of glutathione activator plus NAC and 30 capsules of rosehips vitamin C for the price of just Php1195. I’m keeping my fingers crossed! Let’s hope these products are really effective.

There were a lot of speakers that day but I only got to hear a few. I do think that it was not ideal for the event organizers to separate it from the booths. A lot of people were outside most times and I think the only time I entered and sat down for a while was when i was in need of air-conditioning. I did, however, stick around when “The 4th Players Improv” started their show/performance. They did several games on stage that were so much fun to watch. I didn’t expect I’d be laughing hard but I did. Truly excellent improvisation!

Novotel Manila was such a pretty hotel. Everything looks classy and new. My favorite was the furniture they had in the lobby. I don’t know if it was made by the famous furniture maker in Cebu or not but it was sure as hell luxurious!

We got to the blog event early so we didn’t have the time to eat lunch at home. An hour or so after we arrived, my sister told me that she was already feeling hungry so I brought her to Novotel’s  dining area (Food Exchange Manila). The thing is, I totally forgot about the existence of the Gateway Mall that’s why we ended up dining at Novotel. Had I remembered to look outside the hotel’s entrance door, I would have noticed Wendy’s across the street and would have opted to dine there instead. Don’t get me wrong! Novotel’s food was okay but I wasn’t really planning on spending Php800 for our meals but that’s exactly what happened. My sister ordered a Seafood pasta and I went for their Pork Binagoongan. If I would be totally honest, I’d say that my first impression of their food was that it was a bit pretentious. The servings weren’t what I was expecting. The Pork Binagoongan was good but my brother’s Binagoongan is way way better. I just didn’t feel like it was worth its price. Apart from the meals, I also had to pay a lot of money for the parking. Had I anticipated that we’d stay at the event for hours, I would have parked somewhere else. Instead, I parked my car in the hotel’s basement parking and when it was time to leave, I was charged Php440 in total but since we ate lunch at the hotel, we were given a discount so we ended up paying Php360 instead. But… Php360 is still a lot of money to pay for parking. 😦

blogapalooza-horizons-2-0-free-treats

I’m so happy with all the treats I got at the event. I do think that the organizers of Blogapalooza did a great job in connecting bloggers and merchants in one roof. The freebies are always good to have and not just because it’s free but because getting those free samples allow us bloggers to get to know the products even more at the comforts of our home. This is also why my posts are always long and very detailed. The freebies allow me to refresh my memories on the experiences I had at the event so thank you for all that.

The only thing I didn’t like about the event was the venue because I didn’t expect the booths to be situated outdoors. Novotel Manila’s Versailles Garden was a nice sight to behold but it’s not the perfect place to be at on a hot day. In fact, some of the merchants I talked to also complained about it because they weren’t expecting that the booths will be placed outside. It was very hot that day! I had to go back to the car and get the only available shades I had just so I could cover my eyes (I have sensitive eyes) and take decent shots throughout the day. I hope that the next Blogapalooza event will be held indoors again and I do hope that the next venue will have cheaper parking fees too. ^_^
