Since the time I subscribed to BDJ Box, this (I believe) is the first time that they have been this late in distributing beauty boxes to their customers. They shipped the boxes just last Friday so some of you might get yours sometime next week. Luckily, my boxes were delivered to me this morning even though it’s a Sunday. And yes… I said “boxes” because I ordered 2 – one through my recurring subscription and then another one through the “send as a gift” option.
I’m so happy I was able to order 2 because August’s beauty box is not just an ordinary box but a special one filled with samples of Shiseido’s newest line of products: Ibuki (and some others too). *jumping for joy now…* 🙂
Surprisingly (or not), the 2 boxes are not entirely the same – one box contains 9 items while the other one only has 6 items.
Let’s check each one:
I got 2 samples of this in one box (7ml) each. It’s a gentle dual-phase makeup remover formulated with Xylitol that immediately dissolves waterproof and long-wearing eye makeup and lipstick.
If you have read my posts about cleansing oil and cleansing lotion/fluid, my number one complaint is that those products failed to remove my eye makeup completely. I hope that this particular product from Shiseido will really be very effective in removing my entire eye makeup. I can’t wait to try this!!!
It’s a powerful protective day cream created especially to defend skin against dryness, pollution, and the harmful effects of UV rays.
It’s a time-fighting serum that delivers revolutionary solutions to counteract wrinkles, sagging, and dullness.
This product is way too expensive which is why I’m happy that I will be able to try it without having to pay Php5998. Even though the sample size is only 2ml, if you compute it, would you believe this tiny tube’s value is already about Php240?!? Woah!!
This eye cream diminishes the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and fine lines.
It’s a concentrated softener that penetrates quickly and deeply to build the skin’s resistance by filling it with moisture.
It lathers quickly into a rich foam and effectively cleans your skin while maintaining its ideal moisture balance.
It’s a purifying cleanser that contains micro-granules for a gentle exfoliating effect, removing harmful excess sebum and impurities without stripping away skin’s essential moisture. (Best used once a week)
This is a multi-functional moisturizer that improves visible pores, breakouts and skin roughness caused by dryness, resulting in a smoother and more refined skin texture. (Best used at night)
This 2nd box only has 6 items. It includes samples of the entire Ibuki line but no bio-performance super corrective serum, no benefiance nutriperfect day cream and no instant eye and lip makeup remover. Having said that, this box contains another product that is quite expensive and that alone makes up for all the missing samples.
It’s a luxurious, highly concentrated skin supplement that visibly reduces fine lines, roughness, dryness, and other signs of premature aging while energizing and re-hydrating skin.
The price of this product (in full size) is close to the price of the Serum found in the 1st box. The only difference is that the size of this sample is at 7ml which gives it a value of Php770. So for those who feel bad about not getting the other items, don’t be because the value of this product is almost the same as the value of all those 4 samples (Serum, Day Cream, 2 pieces of Eye and Lip Makeup Remover) combined. Cheer up!!
I was able to compute the value of each box and it turns out that the value of the 1st box is slightly higher than the 2nd box. The 1st box is about Php2039.16 while the 2nd box is Php2008.60 – so close so it’s fine. 🙂
It’s really hard to compare BDJ’s special edition box to the one from Glamourbox last July (Avon Beauty Box) because they both serve a different purpose. I like the Avon beauty box because it came with a lot of full-size cosmetic products and the total value actually amounted to Php3200. However, brand-wise, Shiseido is definitely way better. I don’t mind getting sample sizes of Shiseido products since I doubt that they would be willing to give full-size samples considering it’s very expensive. Plus, I love the cute bottles and tubes from Shiseido. I’ll be going to Singapore this September so these samples will be perfect to bring with me. Yey! 🙂
